YOUTH MINDFULNESS COURSES
MINDFUL SCHOOLS: www.mindfulschools.org
LEARNING TO BREATHE: www.learning2breathe.org
After a lot of research and experience teaching various age groups in a variety of settings, we have found that Mindful Schools and Learning to Breathe to be two excellent youth mindfulness programs that are well supported, have extensive research supporting the benefits of mindfulness in schools, and offer continual training opportunities. Given that, we've decided to focus our attention on the implementation on these two curricula. This is not to say that others such as MindUp are not adequate, but that we felt it important to narrow our focus and give our all to learning and teaching mindfulness using the Mindful Schools and Learning to Breathe curricula.
Currently, there are several individuals in the Granite, Salt Lake City, and Davis County School Districts who have been trained and are creating professional communities based on this interest. Below, we have attempted to briefly outline the efforts in each district and to list those interested in networking. Our intention is for this website to be a portal for any mindfulness-related activity in our state and we are happy to share our resources and learnings to date. If you have any comments or would like to be included in these lists, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
