DAVIS COUNTY – Davis Behavioral Health:

“Cool Minds” – An Adolescent Adaptation of MBSR: 

We are looking forward to our spring class, which begins Thursday, April 7, 2016.  This course will be taught by MBSR instructors, Vicki Overfelt, Debi Todd and Rachel Reist.  The course will be held at Davis Behavioral Health, located at 934 South Main Street, in Farmington.  The “Cool Minds” course is an adolescent adaptation of MBSR, both of which were developed by the Center for Mindfulness at the University of Massachusetts.  For registration and additional information, please visit: http://dbhprevention.org/cool-minds. Just Breathe: Teens Learning to Live Mindfully with Stress and Drama.”  (Grades 7-12)  Designed for middle and high school students, ages 13-17, this class teaches essential mindfulness skills that can lead to more efficient coping with difficult situations, as well as decreased stress and anxiety. Learn to relax and unwind while building self-help skills that will last a lifetime. This class will be part of a Research Study sponsored by the University of Utah. This six-week class is held on at the Jordan Family Education Center (JFEC) during Fall, Winter, and Spring quarters.  JFEC is located at River’s Edge School, 319 West 11000 South, South Jordan, UT 84095.  Register at 565-7442.  All classes at JFEC are offered as a free service to families.
